U2 kicks off world tour in Barcelona
The first date of Irish mega group U2′s new world tour will take place in Barcelona on 30th June at the Nou Camp, featuring what is claimed to be a revolutionary stage design. The stage consists of an open design, affording the audience an unobstructed view and with huge video screens relaying images of the band.
When tickets were put on sale last Wednesday they sold out within an hour, making it the fastest sell-out convert ever in Spain. Most of the 90,000 tickets, which range in price from €30 to €150 were sold online. The group has already added a second Barcelona concert to their schedule on 2nd July, with tickets on general sale from 31st March and there are already rumours of a third concert being added too.
The tour will visit 14 cities in Europe, before moving to the United States in September.
