Review: Le Relais de Venise L’Entrecôte
If you’ve ever been to a restaurant and simply looking at the menu has overwhelmed you for choice, then Le Relais de Venise L’Entrecôte is the definite antidote. Originating in Paris in the 1950s, this small chain of restaurants is limits its menu to just one starter and one main, but aims to serves them exceptionally well.
The starter consists of a salad with walnuts and a mustard dressing, which to be honest was rather plain. But the entrecôte steak – served with a secret sauce handed down from father to daughter – is extremely good and you do have a choice of how well the meat is cooked.
The problem with so many restaurants is that they have a huge menu, but none of it is very good at all. This is the complete reverse and by concentrating on just a single dish they can be sure to get it just right every time.
