Mercat Nou metro station finally reopens

The all new Mercat Nou metro station is now open for business
Mercat Nou metro station (L1) finally reopened for business in June after being completely rebuilt.
The station is now bigger than before and with far better access, including a lift for the disabled and consists of a single central platform in a completely renovated station demolished as part of the works on the high speed train from Madrid.
The work, which started in 2007, cost a total of €15.6 million and includes an underpass on Riera de Tena under the track to allow easy access on both sides of the track to pedestrians.
