Jazz Hotel, Barcelona
Jazz Hotel Barcelona provides a friendly, well-appointed place to stay in an absolutely unbeatable location in the centre of Barcelona.
Within easy walking distance of all the major attractions of the old city – Las Ramblas, the Cathedral, the Gothic Quarter, El Corte Inglés – and less than 5 minutes away from Plaça Catalunya and its transport connections, the Jazz Hotel could not be better situated for those people looking to be right at the heart of this wonderful city.
The 108 double rooms available for guests are all appropriately well-appointed, with satellite television and wi-fi internet access for those who need to keep in touch, and with a pleasing blend of traditional elegance and contemporary style. The Jazz Hotel, as befits its name, has a pleasant bar that often features live jazz, as well as being close to several other well-known music venues. The real ‘jewel in the crown’, however, is the wonderful roof terrace, with its outdoor pool and stunning views over the city; this really is an ideal place to relax and prepare for your next sightseeing trip or retail expedition – or to just catch some rays after being in the warren of the old streets during the morning.
The Jazz Hotel has an enviable reputation in Barcelona for the warmth and friendliness of its welcome and its perfect situation on Carrer de Pelai – it’s more or less halfway between the Metro stations at Catalunya and Universitat. Almost the only negative comments I have found about the Jazz Hotel are that its breakfast is quite costly at 15 euros. Having said that, even the people who mentioned this also had to say that there is a lot of it and that the quality is very good. Still, if you like, there’s a Starbucks 30 seconds away or, if you want to be more local, try a 10 minute stroll down Las Ramblas to La Boqueria market and pick up something there.
For anyone wanting a simply charming, unassuming, well-appointed hotel in the hub of Barcelona, you couldn’t do better than try the Jazz Hotel.
