Barcelona hotels – Ramblas

Many people choose to stay in Barcelona hotels located right on the Ramblas, which is only natural given that many of Barcelona’s points of interest are close to hand.

With a short walk to explore the narrow streets of the barri gòtic or the bars and restaurants of El Born, hotels in the Ramblas are an ideal location for many people.

However, although the location is good for much of what Barcelona has to offer, there are a number of drawbacks. The first of these is that petty theft is rampant on and around the Ramblas, and tourists have been known to lose their baggage in reception while waiting to check in.

The second problem is that the bottom of the Ramblas takes a whole different character in the early hours, when it becomes a major red light district.

Despite these drawbacks, hotels in the Ramblas do make an ideal location for tens of thousands of visitors every year and the good news is that the council is at last trying to clean up Barcelona’s streets.
