Getting from Reus Airport to Barcelona
Although Ryanair’s main base of operations in Catalonia is located at Girona airport, the company also has several flights into Reus from the UK and Spain. Ryanair is really stretching reality when it calls the airport “Barcelona Reus” as Reus is located some 100 km from Barcelona, and check to make sure that the saving you make on your airfare isn’t offset by the cost and inconvenience of travelling between Reus and Barcelona.
Bus
Reus Transport operates a service from the airport to Reus rail and bus stations for connection to Barcelona. It runs once an hour in the morning and takes just 10 minutes to the bus station and 20 to the railway station.
Better still is the Hispano Igualadina bus service from Reus Airport direct to Barcelona, a 1 hour 20 minute journey time for €11. The bus departs five or six times per day, depending on the number of Ryanair flights with which it coordinates. As flights schedules may change frequently make sure to check the website a few days before travelling to ensure you are able to catch the bus.
Train
The train departs from Reus for Barcelona from just after 5 a.m. until 9.18 p.m., with trains running throughout the day. At peak hours there are several trains to choose from every hour, with a journey time of between 1 hour 50 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes, although later in the day you might have to wait for up to 2 hours for a train. You can check the current Reus-Barcelona train timetable online.
Taxi
A taxi costs around €15 to Reus, from where you can catch a bus or train to your final destination. The taxi rank is just outside the arrivals hall.
