The pros and cons of Barcelona apartment rental
One accommodation options that has become increasingly popular over the last few years is the short term rental of holiday apartments in Barcelona.
Usually refurbished to a high standard and available from as few as 2 or 3 days, depending on the time of year, an apartment can offer a surprisingly cheap option for your stay.
The advantages of renting an apartment though can be immense, but there are a few of points to consider when you book an apartment:
1. Peace and quiet
You won’t be disturbed by hotel staff, noise from the corridor or any of the normal disturbances hotel, but you won’t get your bed made or room service either.
Do remember though that other people in your apartment block probably live there all year and while noisy late nights might be your idea of a good holiday they’re unlikely to win you any favours with the locals – so have a good time by all means, but keep the noise down.
2. All mod cons
You’ll have full kitchen facilities, but with so many good and cheap restaurants to choose from, how likely are you to use them?
Of course you may wish to make a decent breakfast before setting off each morning, but a kitchen may be less of an advantage than it first appears.
3. Location, location, location
Are you close to where you want to be? And if you are, what kind of area is your apartment in?
Many apartments have been purchased for investment and are located in down market areas that the owner hopes will improve – this sometimes means the red light district or areas with high crime rates. Ask the agency the exact location of any apartment before committing to it.
